About

Welcome to Artwell

My name is Ursula. I am an accredited art therapist and cross-professional supervisor working in private practice and the mental health services. Having worked in art education and community arts for many years I know the potential that creativity has to support our exploration for meaning. In my own experience as an artist and as someone experiencing challenges in life, I know firsthand that creative expression can support the process of integration, healing and transformation. It's a privilege to work collaboratively with others in this process through my work as an art therapist.

I run a private practice from  Prospect Hill in Galway city centre where I work with individuals, parent/child dyads and groups. My other work takes me out in the community to schools, community organisations and the mental health services.

I am the founder of Red Door Studio, an organisation which explores opportunities for positive change through creativity with community groups and organisations in the wider Galway community. You can find out more about this initiative here;

I am also an artist and part of The Hare's Corner Collective, a group of four women artists based in rural west Galway. You can view some of my artwork here;
